The animal food processing equipment included a 30-meter-long bucket elevator, 101 storage hoppers, chain conveyor, storage tanks, grinders, presses, augers, platforms, handrails, micro dosing system, ducting, chimneys, bag houses, textured feed system, bagging unit, stairwells, pneumatic slide gates and explosion chutes. The TPME engineers were also responsible for the build of the structural building and commissioning.
At the peak, there were 60 TPME employees on site and in our workshop and mechanical, electrical and civil work carried out concurrently. This major multi-skilled plant installation was successfully achieved in an incredibly short time frame spanning just eight months, utilising our own riggers, scaffolders, fitter and welders, pipe fabricators, fitter turners, project engineers throughout this materials handling equipment project.
The project achieved all safety targets as the entire work force embraced the safety objective resulting in zero injuries despite a massive 65,000 man hours on the project.
THE CHALLENGE FOR TPME ENGINEERS
Weather conditions and working at height to meet the target milestone was only achievable by forward planning and co-ordination with all other trades and TPME employees to meet and exceed completion dates.
